If you haven't yet read Wild Men, Wild Alaska, be sure to do so before this book. You'll have a better sense of Rocky and the Alaskan context if you do.
What is easy to do in a city can be all but impossible to do in an Alaskan blizzard. Little mistakes and unexpected consequences can create enormous problems and costs. It takes a different outlook on life to thrive in that environment, and Rocky surely has it!
The animal and hunting stories are just amazing, but the human drama is often much more impressive. Rocky knows how to have fun and he's added some of his best humorous stories to this book. You'll feel like you are bundled up around a roaring fire on a cold night as he tells you one wonderful story after another . . . all revealing God's glory in a way that it's easy to forget in the midst of a crowd of people.
The book reveals a lot about Rocky's character and the qualities that have allowed him to thrive where others may have trouble surviving. I was especially moved by the story of mentoring the young pilot who wanted to earn his bush license.
If you are interested in Franklin Graham, you'll also enjoy seeing other sides of him that aren't often revealed during one of his altar calls in a large church or stadium.

I could not put this book down! It is spiritual, smart, humorous, tragic and insightful. It is a window into the male ego and how fragile it really is. How far they push themselves. Enlightening. I highly recommend this book for anyone who would like to transport themselves into the rugged reality and beauty of Alaska.

I called this book Ahhhh mazing for a reason. It has the Ahh-hah factor that most of us look for our entire lifetime. Finding yourself and finding your identity are featured in this book!! I loved the candor and the humor too, and it is amazing what we are capable of experiencing during an adventure...whether it be one of the spirit or the mind and body. Thank you for another exciting look into the heart--proving once again that we need to experience something bigger than ourselves, and for the reassurance that we all need a God that can give us the desires of our hearts. Both touching and vulnerable, this book was another one I would recommend to men and women alike.

"GOLDENS RULE"
Rocky is the real deal !! I read this book in 2 days where I normally take 2 months. This book has it all. Adventure, humor, spiritual encouragement etc... Challenged my son and I to " man up " and so we headed to Rocky's world in Alaska after reading both books. Rocky is the real deal as are his family and guides. His Alaska is wild yet beautiful and was a trip my son and I will never forget. We have never caught so many fish in our lives or had a better time as father and son. Rocky is a gifted man with a love for God and his creation. The stories he has to share about his adventures will probably fill many more books. Rocky is a man's man but unashamed of his faith in God and love for family. I highly recommend both books written by him. If you go fishing with him ask him about the 50 lb king that got away from D.J. !! Scott

Well Rockstar, you've done it again. Made me stay up all night till I finished your book. WMWA II is awesome! The adventure stories were exiting as usual, but this time you seemed to have dug deeper into the hearts and souls of your subjects; including yourself. I feel I know you better now, and guess what: you're human with hurts and feelings just like the rest of us. You bared more of your soul to us and that brought me closer to your message of God's love and concern for all of us. The sincerity of your beliefs are refreshing as well as breathtaking! This book is a must read for everyone!
